🇳🇬 Defence Minister Links Political Stability To Stronger National Security

The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd) has emphasized political stability and institutional harmony as cardinal foundations for strengthening Nigeria’s national security and supporting sustainable development.

General Musa made the observation while congratulating the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, on his 58th birthday. 

A statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Minister of Defence on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, General Christopher Musa described Professor Yilwatda as a distinguished scholar, visionary administrator and dedicated statesman whose commitment to democratic governance and national progress has contributed to the broader institutional environment required for national stability.

He specifically linked the APC National Chairman’s leadership of the ruling party to the wider security environment, noting that political stability and institutional harmony are critical pillars for strengthening national security and sustainable development.

The framing places democratic governance and institutional stability alongside conventional security considerations, reflecting the Defence Ministry’s emphasis on the wider conditions that support national security and national development.

General Musa also commended Professor Yilwatda’s leadership, integrity and commitment to public service, describing his contribution to the country as a source of confidence and unity.

The Minister wished the APC National Chairman continued health, wisdom and courage as he serves the party and the nation, while praying for many more years of service to Nigeria and humanity.
