Location: Igabi, Kaduna State
The operation followed a distress call from residents reporting cattle rustling at Rugar Mande Kurmin on 8 September 2026. Troops swiftly mobilised towards the suspected withdrawal routes of the terrorists and established blocking positions to intercept their movement.
The Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, disclosed in a statement that troops engaged the terrorists from multiple positions, forcing them to withdraw in disarray and abandon the rustled cattle. The recovered cattle were subsequently handed over to their respective owners.
The operation further demonstrates the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA troops to protecting lives and property while disrupting criminal activities and denying criminal elements freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area.
The task force urged members of the public to continue providing relevant information to security agencies to support ongoing operations against terrorist and other criminal elements.
