NASPRI Begin Second Quarter Courses With Participantion From Army, Navy And Air Force

The Officers and Soldiers of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force are taking part in the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) Second Quarter Courses 2024.

The Course inauguration was performed by the Commandant Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information, Lieutenant Colonel Adamu Ngulde who said NASPRI has provided a solid base for understanding of Public Relations practice for over a decade.
According to him the school has trained about 4000 Officers, Soldiers, Ratings and Airmen since it’s inception in 2010, striving to achieve the training objectives of the Nigerian Army by producing well -grounded Officers and Soldiers that possess the requisite skills to meet the contemporary Public Relations demands of the Nigerian Army as well as the Armed Forces.

Lieutenant Colonel Ngulde stressed that Media Operations play a crucial role in the Armed Forces by shaping public perception, maintaining transparency, providing accurate and timely information to the public about activities, achievements, challenges and other contemporary issues of the Armed Forces.
He said the curriculum is also essential for countering misinformation and propaganda that may be spread by adversaries or hostile media.

The commandant therefore urged the students to remain focused on their studies as he promise to continue to do his best within the resources available to make NASPRI conducive for teaching and learning.
He expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for his unwavering commitment to the Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR) and NASPRI in particular since he assumed Command.

This commitment according to him has once again manifested by the Chief of Army Staff's unscheduled visit to the school on Tuesday, 23rd April to ascertain the level of damage done by rain storm on NASPRI buildings. The COAS gave immediate directive for the commencement of renovation of the affected NASPRI buildings.
This commitment according to the commandant has placed the DAPR and NASPRI in better position to contribute more to the professional training drive of the Army and achieving the COAS Command Philosophy.

He also appreciated the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla and the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar for believing in NASPRI's capacity by sending their personnel to participate in the courses.
Earlier, the Acting Chief Instructor (CI) of the School, Captain Everest Ochienta while presenting the course expectations told the students that courses in the Armed Forces are prerequisite for career progression and service delivery.
He said students are therefore expected to meet up with the training objectives of the courses.

The Instructor said the students will be exposed to theoretical and practical aspect of their training which underscores the need for them to take advantage of the training opportunities from the capable instructors of the School to enhance their capacity.
Capt Ochienta advised the students to be guided in their conduct by the School Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Nigerian Army Core Values in order to exhibit the highest standard of discipline required of military personnel.
