In a move to enhance safety
investigations across all modes of transportation in Nigeria, the Nigerian Safety
Investigation Bureau has reinforced strategic partnership with the Federal Road
Safety Corps with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.
The transportation systems captured
in the agreement include road, aviation, maritime, and rail as stated by the Nigerian
Safety Investigation Bureau.
"This collaborative action is
poised to elevate safety standards, addressing critical areas such as
enforcement and real-time response to accidents, which are crucial for
safeguarding Nigerian lives. Also, the partnership will enable both
agencies to create a more holistic approach to transportation safety."
The Corps Marshal of the Federal
Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, said the partnership is not just limited to
aviation space, but also the road and the railway.
The agreement is significant step
towards reinforcing the safety infrastructure of Nigeria’s transport
sector.
Both agencies will monitor progress
through collaborative workshops, feedback loops, and data sharing, ensuring
that their joint initiatives continuously adapt to emerging safety challenges.
