🇳🇬 Army High Command Reshuffle: COAS Appoints New GOCs, PSOs, Commandants



The Nigerian Army High Command has been reshuffled in a sweeping redeployment ordered by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede.

The reshuffle places fresh hands at key command posts, signalling a renewed push for sharper operational effectiveness across the Army.

According to a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, the exercise affects Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) at Army Headquarters, General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Corps Commanders, Commandants of training institutions, and Brigade Commanders.

Among the new Principal Staff Officers are Maj Gen AA Adeyinka, appointed Chief of Logistics (Army); Maj Gen AA Adekeye, now Chief of Personnel Management; Maj Gen TB Ugiagbe, Chief of Standard and Evaluation; Maj Gen AA Idris, Chief of Military Intelligence; and Maj Gen MO Erebulu, who takes over as Provost Marshal (Army).

At the operational level, Major General ASM Wase has been named GOC 1 Division/Sector 1 JTF North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, while Maj Gen CR Nnebeife takes command of 2 Division/Sector 3 JTF under the same operation.

Training institutions also witnessed changes. Maj Gen MO Ihanuwaze now heads the Nigerian Army Finance School and Administration, Maj Gen KO Osemwegie takes charge of the Army Signal School, Maj Gen AJ Aliyu leads the Ordnance School, and Maj Gen AC Adetoba assumes command at the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management.

Other senior appointments include Brig Gen M Jimoh, posted to 1 Brigade; Brig Gen NE Okoloagu, to 2 Brigade; and Brig Gen AA Bello, to 6 Division Garrison/Sector 3 JTF South South Operation DELTA SAFE.

The COAS urged all newly appointed commanders to double their commitment to ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats, stressing that troop welfare remains central to sustaining battlefield success.
