Iranian and Pakistani leaders issue joint call to UN Security Council to intervene in Gaza crisis.

The presidents of Iran and Pakistan have condemned the ongoing conflict in Gaza, urging the United Nations Security Council to act decisively and warning against what they described as continued Israeli aggression and global indifference.

Speaking during his first official visit to Islamabad on Sunday, Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian said the crisis underscored the need for a regional and international consensus against what he called the unlawful actions of the “Zionist regime.”

“These aggressions once again revealed the necessity of coming up with a regional and global consensus against the unlawful actions of the Zionist regime,” President Pezeshkian said in a joint press address with Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif. “The two countries of Iran and Pakistan ask international bodies, especially the Security Council of the United Nations, to avoid double standards and take up a more active role in preventing the aggressions against the soil and territories of member countries, as well as the spillover of the war, the encroachment on sovereignty, and the killing of civilians.”

The statement marked a united front by the two Muslim-majority nations in their criticism of the war in Gaza, amid rising death tolls and reports of starvation in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

Beyond the Gaza issue, the bilateral meeting also focused on strengthening cooperation in trade, energy, and border security. Both governments expressed optimism about revitalizing economic ties and addressing shared concerns across the Middle East and South Asia.

Officials from both countries hailed the visit as a turning point in diplomatic relations, with renewed attention on regional stability and joint opposition to foreign intervention and war escalation.
