Nigerian troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have neutralized nine Boko Haram terrorists, including two top commanders, during recent counter-insurgency operations in Borno State.

The operations on 21 and 22 August targeted insurgents in Bita and Wulgo, significantly disrupting Boko Haram activities in the North East theatre.
The top commanders, identified as Abu Nazir (Munzir of Juye) and Abu Fatima
(Munzir of Koloram), were killed during a fierce gun battle in Wulgo. Troops
recovered AK-47 rifles, a cache of ammunition, and six motorcycles belonging to
the insurgents.
“The military high command has lauded
troops for this feat and urged them to sustain the offensives despite daunting
challenges,” a defence source confirmed.
The success forms part of ongoing
operations to stabilize the North East and protect civilians, with coordinated
air and ground efforts against insurgents in key hotspots.
