The Nigerian Air Force has put its Regiment through a punishing week of mountain drills in Jos, pushing officers and airmen to adapt to combat-like terrain.

Held between 24-29 August 2025 at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Shere Hills, the exercise tested 34 officers of Basic Regiment Officers Course BROC 20/2025 and 477 airmen/airwomen of Basic Regiment Airmen Course BRAC 33/2025. From abseiling to survival tasks, the training was designed to harden endurance and sharpen leadership under pressure.
According to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, “This training is fundamental in shaping resilient leaders and dependable team players. By building endurance, discipline and unity of purpose, our Regiment personnel are better equipped to confront the nation’s evolving security challenges.”

Olayera, stressef that teamwork and leadership lessons from Jos must guide future
operations. Senior officers, including Air Commodore BR Amuda, Commander 551
NAF Station Jos, witnessed the final drills, which ended with trophies and
certificates for top performers.
The exercise underscores NAF’s push to build a combat-resilient Regiment capable of protecting airbases and projecting airpower across Nigeria’s toughest security theatres.
