The symbolic presentation, which took place tow days ago, follows the public launch of the book on Friday, 3 October 2025 at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

In an emotional reflection, Brigadier General Usman (Rtd) recalled his time serving under the leadership of General Irabor during the early days of the counter-insurgency operations in Maiduguri.

“Receiving this autographed copy is more than a personal honour - it is a celebration of shared experiences, professional camaraderie, and enduring national service,” he said, describing the book as a “profound chronicle of Nigeria’s arduous struggle against insurgency.”

The retired General also recounted how General Irabor - known for his humility and warmth - visited his residence first after assuming office as Chief of Defence Staff in June 2021.

“That unforgettable gesture still lingers in my memory,” he added.
