He stated this while delivering a strategic leadership lecture titled “From Vision to Reality: Strategic Leadership Insights from the CAS Command Philosophy” at the Air Vice Marshal AO Ogundana Officers’ Mess, Jaji, Kaduna State, North West Nigeria.
A statement by the College Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Olumide Olukoya, the lecture underscored the importance of strategic leadership and vision in command.
The CAS told students of Senior Course 47 and Junior Course 100 that leadership is not just about authority but “influence, integrity, and the ability to inspire collective excellence.”
According to him, true command requires discipline, innovation, and teamwork, guiding teams to find opportunities in adversity.
“Leadership is about inspiring trust and vision even in difficult circumstances,” Abubakar said.

Dignitaries at the event included the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Commandants of key training institutions, and senior directing staff.
