Operation HADIN KAI has intensified its intelligence-driven campaign against violent crime in Nigeria's North-East, with troops arresting five suspected kidnappers and recovering illegal firearms during a coordinated security operation in Yobe State, reinforcing ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks before they can threaten local communities.

The operation was disclosed by Operation HADIN KAI in a statement signed by its Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni, who said troops of 233 Battalion, Sector 2, working alongside the Yobe State Hunters Group, carried out the raid on 23 July 2026 at Jegalari Village in Fune Local Government Area following credible intelligence on the activities of the suspected criminals.
According to the military, the operation led to the arrest of five suspects and the recovery of three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, assorted ammunition and four mobile phones believed to be connected to the suspects' criminal activities.
The statement noted that the suspects and all recovered exhibits remain in military custody as investigations continue to determine their involvement in kidnapping and other organised criminal activities operating within the area.
Operation HADIN KAI said the successful raid reflects its sustained commitment to denying terrorists, kidnappers and other criminal elements freedom of action across the North-East through proactive intelligence-led operations rather than reactive security responses.
The Theatre Command also urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, stressing that public cooperation remains essential to disrupting criminal networks, protecting communities and sustaining security gains across the region.
