The Acting Military Information Officer of Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, confirmed in an official statement on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, that the multi-domain offensive operations successfully degraded terrorist infrastructure across northern operational sectors.

According to Captain Goni, ground forces executed targeted engagements against terrorist enclaves in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State on Monday, 26 October 2026, following actionable intelligence and aerial surveillance tracking.

Battle Damage Assessments from the Kukawa operations confirmed that 28 terrorists were neutralised during the direct tactical strikes, with six additional combatants sustaining severe injuries during the encounter.

In a complementary maritime strike on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, the Maritime Component operating from Naval Base Lake Chad in Baga launched offensive waterborne actions against terrorist positions in the Lake Chad basin.

Captain Goni reported that preliminary assessments from the naval assault indicated eight terrorists were neutralised while 10 others suffered varying degrees of injuries during the riverine engagement.

In a concurrent air interdiction mission on the same day, air components intercepted a terrorist cell attempting to plant IEDs along tactical transit routes, neutralising eight operatives and destroying their operational vehicle, motorcycles, and explosive components.

The successful aerial strike prevented the bomb-laying unit from executing its planned sabotage mission against civilian and military logistics corridors across the theatre.

Captain Goni emphasized that the Theatre Command remains steadfast in exerting continuous operational pressure on insurgent networks to restrict their mobility and safeguard communities throughout the North East region.

Military authorities in Maiduguri commended the joint force synergy and urged local residents to maintain active civil-military collaboration by providing timely intelligence to consolidate regional peace and stability.
