Fitness a must In Summoning Security Challenges - Chief of Training

Fitness has been described as a prerequisite to surmounting security challenges and essential for personnel of the Armed Forces.

The Chief of Training (COT), Nigerian Army, Major General Sani Mohammed, stated this at the inauguration of the 23 Brigade war gaming simulation exercise tagged 'Ex ZAKI RURI', at the Land Forces Simulation Centre (LFSCN) Giri, Abuja, Nigeria.
Major General Mohammed disclosed that the exercise would facilitate integration and foster liaison between ministries, departments and agencies in a joint operations environment, with focus on deriving lessons from the experience.

In a statement by the Acting Public Relations Officer Land Forces Simulation Centre, Captain Talatu Tafarki, the Chief of Training underscored the importance of critically evaluating lessons and applying them as necessary to ensure a foolproof operational plan.
Major General Mohammed expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff ( COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja NAM, for his unwavering support towards training and providing essential resources to the department to fulfill its mandate effectively.

He urged the observers to maintain objectivity and ensure that their comments and observations contribute to enhancing the operational readiness of 23 Brigade during the After Action Review.
In his address, the Director General, Land Forces Simulation Centre, Major General UA Yusuf, reminded the participants that training remains the cornerstone of the Nigerian Army.

This he said aligns with the Command Philosophy of the COAS to "Transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly effective force to fulfill our Constitutional Responsibilities in a Joint Environment".
He stressed the imperative of continuing to provide top-notch training to all NA personnel, emphasizing that this commitment is essential to overcoming the security challenges facing the nation.

Major General Yusuf disclosed that the COAS has approved that all NA units deployed for operations, domestically or internationally, will undergo at least one week of wargaming at the centre to refine their operational plans.
He further urged the participants to approach the exercise with seriousness, immersing themselves in real-life scenarios relevant to their units and formations, thus ensuring effective support for NA operations.

He equally assured the COAS that the resources allocated would be optimally utilized, yielding valuable feedback on training effectiveness.
