Communitiy Benifit from 13 Brigade Free Medical Outreach In Cross River

13 Brigade Nigerian Army Calabar has conducted a free medical outreach to the people of Belegete Community  in Obenliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, a border community between Nigeria and Cameroon.

A statement by the Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations 13 Brigade Nigerian Army, Captain Jamila jimoh over a thousand people from the community benefited from the free medical outreach which included the elderly, youths, women and children. 
The outreach included free medical consultations, checking of vital signs, malaria, diabetes and blood sugar tests. Others were blood pressure checks and eyes test. Drugs were also administered freely subject to tests and prescription.

The medical outreach is part of the Nigerian Army's non kinetic efforts  and corporate social responsibility to communities within its Area of Responsibility.    
The village Head of Belegete Community, Mr Eku Simon Akor,  expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for the choice of his community despite the difficulty in topography in accessing the community.

He said that the free medical outreach will go a long way in addressing medical challenges confronting residents of the community. He further stated that they thought the community has been forgotten but with this outreach, hope has been restored.
