The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru has assured officers and men of the Armed Forces of the government of President Bola Tinubu's commitment to equipping and training them inorder to enhance their combat readiness against insurgency and terrorism.
The Minister gave the assurance when he addressed troops of Operation Hadarin Daji at the 213 Forward Operating Base, Katsina as contained in a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Henshaw Ogubike.
Badaru acknowledged President Tinubu's significant successes in the fight against insurgency and related crimes, urging the troops to continue the fight against insurgency and banditry, commending their sacrifices and commitment.
Regarding the recent incident involving the killing of soldiers in Abia State, the Minister reassured the personnel of the government's determination to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent such incidents from happening again.
The Air Officer Commanding Air Component 213 Forward Operation Hadarin Daji Commodore G.I. Jibia, appreciated the Minister's visit, stating that it would boost Troop's morale.
Earlier, the Minister held an interactive discussion with officers and men of the Headquarters of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji, Katsina, to assess their preparedness in responding to insecurity threats in the region.
The Minister also visited the Nigerian Army Medical Center, Katsina, where he sympathized with military personnel injured during combat operations.
Mohammed Badaru was also at the government house Katsina where he reassured the government and people of Katsina State of the Federal Government's unwavering support in the fight against insurgency and banditry.
During the visit, Badaru reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to securing Nigeria from all forms of insecurity threats.
He stated that the Ministry of Defence will partner with other security agencies to restore security to the State, ensure a peaceful farming season.
The Minister's visit to Katsina state military formations is aimed to boost troop morale, assess operational modalities, and explore ways to support the Military in the fight against insurgency.
Governor Dikko Umar, represented by Deputy Governor Alh. Faruk Lawan, commended the Minister's commitment to ensuring adequate security for Katsina State and Nigeria. He thanked the Minister for his tireless support in ending insecurity in the State.
