Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi
Tinubu, has sent a good will message to the Nigerian female national football
team; the Super Falcons, as they square up against host nation Morocco, in the
final match of the ongoing Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The stage is set in Rabat for an
electric grand finale to the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), as
record nine-time champions, Nigeria battle the hosts, the Atlas
Lionesses of Morocco.
The First Lady in a message on the
occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls of African Descent marked
every July 25, said Nigeria joins the world in marking the day
She said despite challenges, women
and girls continue to excel in various fields.
“Across the world, women and girls
of African descent continue to excel despite facing historical and systemic
barriers. We use this day to celebrate you as you take care of your families
and continue to excel. I say well done.”
“You have all come a long way, we
are proud of all your achievements as you keep the African spirit alive. Long
live women and girls of African descent,”
The iconic
Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium host the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of
Nations (WAFCON).
