Troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP) have recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition following a raid on a bandits’ hideout in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The operation was launched after credible intelligence confirmed the stockpiling of weapons by bandits in Rawaya Village, close to Kazok in Barkin Ladi.
The suspect fled shortly before troops arrived, but a thorough search led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, one G3 rifle, one revolver pistol, four AK-47 magazines, three G3 magazines, 1,198 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, four rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO) ammunition, three mobile phones and other sundry items.
According to a statement signed by the Media Information Officer, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, the recovered weapons are currently in custody for further action. He added that efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing bandit and his collaborators.
Operation ENDURING PEACE reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the tempo of operations against criminal elements and ensuring the continued safety of communities across the Joint Operations Area.
