In his Eid-el-Kabir goodwill message, the AANI President positioned the Islamic festival as a moment for national reflection around sacrifice, tolerance, justice, peaceful coexistence and commitment to the common good.
Eid Values Must Reinforce National Cohesion
Within the message, Ambassador Okafor stressed that Nigeria’s long-term stability and progress would depend on citizens choosing unity over division and national interest above narrow personal or political considerations.
The AANI leadership maintained that the values symbolised by Eid-el-Kabir remain critical to strengthening national cohesion, reconciliation and responsible citizenship across religious, ethnic and political lines.
He also acknowledged the resilience and perseverance demonstrated by Nigerians despite continuing economic and security pressures, describing public faith in Nigeria’s future as an enduring source of national strength.
AANI Positioned As Strategic National Leadership Reservoir
The AANI President further commended members of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for what he described as sustained contributions to national development, strategic leadership, public service and peace-building initiatives across sectors.
According to the Association’s assessment, AANI members continue to reinforce national capacity through professionalism, integrity, governance engagement and policy-oriented leadership interventions.
The message equally recognised the sacrifices of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and personnel within the wider security and intelligence community for their continued commitment to national security and public safety.
Political Leadership Urged To Prioritise National Welfare
Ambassador Okafor also urged political actors to move beyond divisive rhetoric, excessive politicking and partisan calculations, while encouraging leadership anchored on governance solutions and citizen welfare.
The intervention emphasised that political engagement must focus more deliberately on improving living conditions, strengthening responsible governance and advancing national stability.
The AANI President further encouraged Nigerians to recommit themselves to mutual respect, tolerance and brotherhood, stressing that the country’s diversity should remain a strategic source of strength rather than division.
He expressed hope that the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations would bring renewed peace, wisdom and prosperity to Nigeria while strengthening national unity and institutional stability.
