Chief of Army Staff Army Commends Education Corps For Transformative Drive As it Holds Second Quarter Conference



The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has commended the Commander, Nigerian Army Education Corps (NAEC) Major General Bello Alhaji Tsoho for his visionary leadership and transformative drive that have significantly impacted on the educational landscape of the Nigerian Army and the nation as a whole. 

The COAS who was represented by General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army (NA) Major General Obinna Onubogu;  gabe the commendation at the opening ceremony of the NAEC Second Quarter Conference and Maiden Research, Development and Innovation Exhibition 2024, at the Nigerian Army Institute of Science Education and Technology (NAISET) in Ilorin Kwara State.

He said the efforts have ushered in serries of progressive policies include the new admission policy in Command Secondary Schools which have been instrumental in broadening access to quality education for the children of Nigerian Army personnel.

Headquarters, Nigerian Army Education Corps, Captain Yemi Sokoya has been done thorough implementation of the Commander’s Blueprint has served as a road map for repositioning of NAEC.

General Lagbaja noted that; the event signifies the NA relentless pursuit of excellence in Education and Innovation, an endeavor that has been a cornerstone of the Nigerian Military’s rich history and development. 

The COAS further congratulated the 16 Generals who were graciously pulled out of service on Monday 3 June 2024 - he expressed his best wishes to them in their future endeavors.

He stressed that the Commander NAEC’s commitment to educational research, development, and innovation has substantially improve teaching and learning within the NAEC. 

The COAS while admonishing  the personnel said “ I implore you to continue to be the torchbearers of the NA. Your dedication and hard work are invaluable to our mission. Let us remain united, focused, and committed to the ideals of excellence and service”. 

The Army Chief disclosed that, in line with his Command Philosophy, he would commence extensive infrastructural developments starting with five pioneers Command Secondary Schools across the country. This initiative will be extended to other schools in due course, ensuring that educational facilities are equipped to provide the highest standards of education.

Gen Lagbaja reiterated that; Command Schools play a pivotal role in providing the platform for shaping the minds of future leaders and in fostering a culture of knowledge and discipline.

The Commander NAEC Major General Bello Alhaji Tsoho expressed his gratitude to the COAS for his continued support for the NAEC which he said is deeply appreciated. 

He appreciated the COAS’ for approving and supporting them towards the successful conduct of the Corps dignified Pulling-Out Ceremony which was held Monday 3 June 2024 in honour of our 16 retired Generals.

He noted that NAEC is actively engaged in a comprehensive transformation drive; he further encouraged all personnel to key in accordingly through which he believes; set objectives will be achieved and will propel the NAEC towards even greater success.

On the sideline of the conference, during the tour of Research, Development and Innovation displayed by NAEC notably by Command Secondary Schools across the nation; locally sourced and built technologies were displayed. These included; periscope, fire alarm system, Robotic Switch, a high voltage protector and Command Day Secondary School Website, a fueless electric generator, locally produced dry cell, generation of cooking gas from biomass, electric burglar alarm, a solar direct charging box, and a smart house amongst many other innovations.
