🇳🇬 Leadership and Training Central to Army Strength, Stated General Shaibu

 


The Chief of Army Staff has declared that strong leadership and continuous training remain the cornerstone of the Nigerian Army’s operational effectiveness in overcoming contemporary security threats.

Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu made the statement while addressing officers during an operational tour of the 1 Division Area of Responsibility in Kaduna. 


According to a statement issued by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Army Chief maintained that leadership is the most decisive factor in tackling insecurity and safeguarding lives and property.





He urged officers to remain exemplary figures whom soldiers can confidently rely on, stressing that leading troops in battle is a core responsibility of every officer. 


At a separate parade address, he called on soldiers to obey and trust their commanders, noting that loyalty, discipline and commitment are essential in fulfilling their constitutional duties.





General Shaibu further described training as the best gift the institution offers its personnel, encouraging soldiers to leverage courses provided by the Nigerian Army training schools and divisional institutions to advance their competence and pursue personal development.


He reaffirmed that the welfare of troops remains a priority under his leadership. As part of the visit, he commissioned a newly built soldiers canteen at the Division Headquarters. The operational tour marks his first visit to 1 Division since assuming office.
